This is a visit to Granite River Hydro with the House of Representatives Science Technology and Energy Committee.
Hydro is an important part of our energy mix, generating roughly 5% of our electricity. This precious, always on natural resource, goes far beyond energy production as they own thousands of recreational acreage in our state. Their biggest cost is property tax. Sound familiar? They pass this cost on to ratepayers. If we lower their tax burden, we lower costs for ALL NH ratepayers. Republicans have worked diligently to lower taxes while democrats universally vote for tax increases. This property tax shows up in your energy bill, not as an enumerated line item, but simply as a higher cost to turn on your lights.
Please support me on November 3 so that I can continue to vote “NO” on tax increases, wherever they may be hidden.
