I hope all Bedfordites have adequate heating at a reasonable cost to heat their homes this winter. As I knocked on many doors this summer and fall to ask what concerns my fellow Bedfordites, high and volatile energy costs were at the top of the list. I share that concern. The solution I offered and have written here on my issues tab, is a near and medium term increase in natural gas made available through existing or to-be-built pipeline. The longer solution is nuclear, augmented by modest amounts of alternative energy such as hydro, biomass, wind and solar, all when economically feasible.

The linked article below discusses a REAL common sense natural gas pipeline plan that would ensure an adequate supply of natural gas to New England which is the stable, cheap and available energy source we need in NH to fuel our energy needs. Natural gas is the most obvious and economical energy source that is available to us as we consider longer-term “all-of-the-above” options, including Nuclear. Natural gas appears to be emerging as the only economically viable common sense source while we consider Nuclear, which is supported by both our governor and a bi-partisan aggregation of legislators, including your republican legislative representatives.

Stop Press! Trump Pledges to Revive PA-to-NY Constitution Pipeline | Marcellus Drilling News

Never in our wildest dreams did we see this one coming. And we must caution against too much hope. However, we are JAZZED. Last Friday, President Trump signed yet another executive order. This EO creates the National Energy Dominance Council, directing the new council to move quickly to increase domestic oil and gas production (see our companion post today for details). During comments with reporters at the EO signing, Trump vowed to complete the long-dead Pennsylvania Marcellus to New York State Constitution Pipeline! Trump’s own words: “We are going to get this done, and once we start construction, we’re looking at anywhere from nine to 12 months.”
